San Antonio in spring time! If you’ve been out and about in San Antonio any time in the past two months, you’ve surely seen our city gearing up for Fiesta.
Fiesta is San Antonio’s largest event and draws visitors from all over the world. This year’s event will kick off in Hemisfair Park and lasts for 10 days. Fiesta dates back to 1891 when a group of citizens created the Battle of Flowers to honor the heroes of the Alamo and Battle of San Jacinto.
Since 1891, Fiesta has grown enormously and has run continuously with the exception of four years (1 during WWI and 3 during WWII). It raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for the San Antonio community each year and gives area non-profits the opportunity to fundraise and build community.
St. Paul’s doesn’t have an official Fiesta event, but we get just as excited for all the cool things happening around town! Click here for the full list of Fiesta events happening this year and don’t forget to show off your medals!
As a reminder, we will not have school on Friday, April 28th for the Battle of Flowers.
